Arreton C of E Primary School

Our two schools, Arreton C.E. Primary and Oakfield C.E. Primary, have been operating as a Federation since the restructuring of Island schools in 2010 when the three-tier system was abandoned in favour of the present two-tier system. As a result, all middle schools disappeared and several very small primaries were closed.  Federating with Oakfield enables us to enjoy the mutual benefits of partnering with another school.  We regularly organise school trips, visits from guest speakers and theatre company performances together.

Letter from our Executive Head

Dear Parents and Carers,

At the Arreton St Georges and Oakfield Federation we work hard to create an amazing environment where children enjoy learning. Every child is encouraged to develop self-confidence, be inquisitive and strive to achieve their very best. All our children are valued for their skills and individual qualities – we celebrate success at every opportunity.  Our aspirations are high; staff and children at both schools are focused on raising attainment and achievement at all opportunities.  Our aim is to become beacons of excellence on the Island and inspire children to achieve the very best they can. We hope that you will want to become involved in the life of Arreton Primary so that together we can ensure that your child has the very best possible educational experience.

Our Curriculum is inspiring, broad and balanced.  We encourage all children to have a positive attitude towards learning, a thirst for knowledge and a strong desire to better themselves. We expect children to develop self-discipline, show care and consideration towards others and understand that respect comes from their own sense of responsibility and commitment.  These are principles enshrined in the values adopted by the school.  We actively encourage the children to adopt our Christian core values which underpin all aspects of school life – we believe in God’s love as our foundation and through that love inspire the children. We truly believe that every child is an individual and each and every one deserves the very best we can offer.

Welcome to our school community.

Kind Regards,

Colin Haley
