Year 3 Election

To celebrate the 2017 Snap General election, Year 3 held their own mini election. The children began the day by discussing why the election was being held, who was involved and how it was different to a regular election. The 5 main parties were then represented by 5 children who presented a ‘child friendly version’ of the manifestos to the class. One by one the children then attended our Aslan class polling station. The children had to register themselves and then cross their ballot paper, posting it securely in the ballot box. Over lunch time, Miss Horne counted up all of the results the results were as follows:

On Friday, Miss Horne was very impressed by the conversations the children were having about the actual result of the election and year 3 spent some time discussing what a hung parliament was and how it will affect our country.Well done Year 3!
